Spirited Office Decor for the Holidays

Here at Trias Flowers, we're happy to welcome the noble poinsettia back into the shop again. This cheerful plant, symbolic of the season, is used abundantly in homes and workplaces throughout the country during this time of year. We love this winter bloomer so much, in fact, that we even have a national day for it (December 12). Introduced to the U.S. from Mexico, the poinsettia came by its Christmas-plant reputation through a legend. It's said that in the 16th century, a humble Mexican girl was instructed by an angel to pick some weeds by the side of the road and place them on her church's altar in celebration of Jesus' birthday. The weeds blossomed into the poinsettia, and the rest is history. Read More about Spirited Office Decor for the Holidays »

Make Veterans Day Special with Flowers

How do you make Veterans Day special for your favorite patriot? With flowers, of course. Here at Trias Flowers, we'd be honored to provide some fresh, meaningful blooms this November 11, a day we've been celebrating as a country in one way or another since 1919. Our parades, parties, and other observances allow us to publicly recognize our U.S. military veterans, but we're fans of the personal gesture, too. Since so many of our decorated friends and family live afar, or can't make it to a public event, it's nice to bring something special right to them. Modern Elegance with Mums

When we think of the chicest flowers, a few come to mind: roses, orchid, lily, tulips. Rarely do we consider the humble mum a part of that category. The ubiquitous flowering plant is usually found cheering up doorsteps or flower beds come Fall, even here in Miami, where the already-thirsty mum is made even thirstier. But there are many varieties of mums in all the harvest hues. The kind you'll want to bring indoors. The kind you'll want to set in the center of your holiday dining area or entryway table. We at Trias Flowers are here to show you just how elegant mums - especially when blended with other flowers - can be. Read More about Modern Elegance with Mums »

Sweetest Day Flowers & Gifts

Sweetest Day is a holiday which began in Cleveland in the early 1900's. A candy company employee named Herbert Kingston suggested giving boxes of chocolates to the underprivileged, the orphans and those in nursing homes. He rallied the executives to his cause, and in its first year, the initiative was a rousing success, heavily covered by the media. Over the last century ,the tradition has continued, primarily in the Midwest and the Northeast. Trias Flowers knows that chocolate and flowers have something in common - they both inspire happiness. Whether you decide to give sweets and treats, or would prefer flowers, we have everything you need. Let's make Sweetest Day famous in Miami!  Read More about Sweetest Day Flowers & Gifts »

Plants & Gifts for the Best Boss

What are the characteristics that make up a great boss? Experts tell us that even though bosses come in all shapes, sizes and styles, there are definitely some common attributes which indicate that a good boss is destined to be a great one. On October 16, we are given the opportunity to celebrate those who work hard every day to create a work environment that is encouraging, dynamic, and productive. If you think that you have the best boss in Miami, make sure they know you appreciate them, with a gift from Trias Flowers. Did You Know? National Boss's Day originated in Chicago in 1958, the brainchild of Patricia Bays Haroski, an employee of State Farm Insurance. It took 4 years, but in 1962 the observance was made official nationally, and is dedicated to enhancing the relationships between employees and employers. Floral Designs in Autumn Colors

Let's face it, those of us in Miami can feel a little left out as we hear of everyone anticipating the fall season. We don't really experience a decrease in temperatures, nor do we have the opportunity to enjoy the splendor of changing fall foliage. Still, many of us still love to decorate our homes with the colors of autumn - either to remember past years up north, or to simply change up the ambiance a bit. If you are looking to give your home a bit of an autumn air, Trias Flowers has some fall-inspired ideas, which we present to you Florida style! The colors of autumn are traditionally yellowish gold, red burgundy, and burnt orange. While our friends may be potting mums and asters, we have a different spin on seasonal floral designs.  Read More about Floral Designs in Autumn Colors »
